Chris Sterlacci is a native Texan and veteran of the United States Air Force. He graduated from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2015.
Chris began his career with CoVerica Insurance in 2011, gaining firsthand experience in the independent agency business from the ground up. After graduating from SMU, he joined CoVerica Agency Alliance (CAA) as a Regional Vice President (RVP), focusing primarily on the recruitment and development of new member agencies. After demonstrating both the capacity and desire to further strengthen CoVerica’s relationships with independent agents across the region, Chris was promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) for CAA in 2016. In January 2023, he became the Managing Partner of CoVerica Agency Alliance, where he leads the organization’s strategic growth and its mission of helping independent agencies succeed.
At CAA, Chris works to advance the organization’s mission: to improve the lives of agency owners and their teams by mitigating uncertainties, providing resources, mentoring, and creating opportunities to profitably build their businesses.
Chris’s leadership philosophy has been shaped by his time in the U.S. Air Force, his business education at SMU, and the mentorship of his father, Mike Sterlacci. Mike instilled in him the principles that guide his leadership today: Die to Self, Everyone’s Best Sustainable Interest, Right Things for the Right Reasons, and Open & Honest Dialogue. These values influence how Chris approaches leadership, relationships, and decision-making.
Chris is passionate about helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals through agency ownership, growth, and acquisition, and his “why” is rooted in empowering others to build businesses that create opportunity for their families, employees, and communities.
Chris lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Caitlin. Outside of work, he enjoys restoring classic cars and antique wooden boats, exploring great restaurants, and spending time with their dog Ace.
